My December 2016 Photo of the Month is Santee Southwest, a sunset image taken from the Mast Blvd. bridge near my home.
Background
This photo was taken during a week of beautiful clouds every sunset. This image is extra special because I had the privilege of making the photograph with my daughter by my side (iPhone-aided). She has learned to look at all of the beautiful sunset colors and appreciate them. Sometimes, when she sees the color, she will remind me to get my camera and take a pretty picture.
This composition from the Mast Blvd. bridge has long been my local muse. It is a convenient location just outside my doorstep when the light is just right but I haven’t ventured out into San Diego.
As I have said many times, it is important to “own your own backyard” and know the places in your neighborhood better than anybody else. This is my special place that I will keep coming back to while I live here in town.
And now, 2016 is finished. This was an amazing year of images, and I can’t wait to add to my archives and portfolio in 2017. Thank you for reading, and onward!
