Sunset Cliffs Natural Park may be my favorite location in all of San Diego. It can be quite busy, but you can still find a spot to enjoy a moment or two to reflect. The anchor spot of this park is Ross Rock, affectionately known as Birdshit Rock by the local surfers.
Several miles of steep and rocky coastline make for dramatic scenes, particularly at midnight. I typically photograph alone, so I have avoided the sea caves, where people make great photos, but you often hear in the news of the need for rescues. For now, I will stay at the elevated view.
