I was an active member of Scouting from 1985 to 2020.
My journey began as a Cub Scout in Pack 10, and I then joined Boy Scout Troop 8 in Yucaipa, California.
I stayed active in Inland Empire Scouting even after I moved to San Diego in 1997. It was in California Inland Empire Council that I earned my Eagle Scout in 1992 and the Silver Beaver in 2008.
In 2010, I joined Boy Scout Troop 384 in Santee, California.
I was passionately involved in the Order of the Arrow from 1990 to 2020, and I cover that in a separate OA section of this website.
This BSA section primarily covers my home Troop, home camps, and other non-OA activities I was involved in.
After over 3 decades of service, with the BSA bankruptcy and COVID-19 pandemic affecting the quality of the program, I decided to retire my as an active member. I am still quite involved in Scouting and Order of the Arrow history, which you can see at my website, area4history.com.
Maybe I will rejoin someday and have some more fun, but I also enjoy my time as an alum.
