June 18 Sunset is an image made by T.M. Schultze in Sunset Cliffs Natural Park in San Diego, California. 2 days before the Summer solstice, a heat wave in the Southwest brought high temperatures that kept the onshore flow marine layer at bay. With moisture in the air, this was perfect for high clouds setting up in the evening.
With the moon nearly full, the tide was very high, with a good portion of Ross Rock was underwater. The surf wasn’t huge, but with the high tide offered some beautiful wave crashes.
