A desert monsoon storm at sunset by Joshua Tree National Park’s Cholla Cactus Garden. Summer afternoons often bring these desert monsoon storms that bring huge clouds, dramatic light, and beautiful scenes. This storm hung over the Pinto Basin, a location well-known for dangerous flash flooding. The location at the Cholla Cactus Garden is several miles upstream from the basin.
