hikesMy December 2023 Photo of the Month is MTRP292, taken at Lake Murray in San Diego’s Mission Trails Regional Park.

MTRP292 Background
December is always a slow month for me, because I am usually busy with my daughter and family. I miss plenty of beautiful winter sunsets, and I missed all the epic surf along our coast this week (from what I have read and seen in articles, that may have been a good thing). There were a few to get to a few hikes in Mission Trails and I visited an old historic bridge near my hometown.
I have been looking to get a few photographs at Lake Murray over the years. Some areas are challenging to create a natural landscape because the lake is surrounded by urban neighborhoods. The lake itself is a nice walk on either side of the dam.
This photo was created looking across the San Carlos Arm of the lake. The sun was getting low, and the moonrise looked beautiful, even with no clouds. In addition, I watched a group canoeing South across my frame, which I thought was a nice addition to the image.
This concludes my Photos of the Month for 2023. I have plenty of 2023 images to process into 2024, so I plan to show you more very soon.
As always, thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy the image. Happy New Year to everyone.
