Photographed: 2018 Location: Yuma, Arizona Sunset at the McPhaul bridge over the Gila River, also known as the Yuma Bridge to Nowhere. The bridge is a steel truss bridge with a wood deck. Due to concerns for it's viability, this bridge supported US Route 95 until a bypass route was built with a new bridge over the Gila River. In 1995, the bypass bridge was destroyed due to flash flooding, while the original bridge remains intact.

Old Pine Valley Creek Bridge
Photographed: 2017 Location: Pine Valley, California This is the original U.S. Route 80 bridge over Pine Valley Creek. It was eventually bypassed and the modern Old Highway 80 bridge was recently rebuilt. This bridge appears to be on private property now and has limited access to both sides. It would be nice to get permission from the property owner to photograph it more extensively someday.
